Vacation Bible School

Vacation Bible School is an outreach program for children 3 years through 5th grade. We meet five evenings in a row, for one week in the summer, usually soon after public school has started summer vacation. Through the use of an appealing theme, children are taught Bible stories using music, drama, crafts, snacks, games, and a video story.

For the past several years, Grace has held VBS with our next door neighbors, St. John’s Episcopal. We have shared buildings, lawn, children, adult leaders, and supplies to bring this program to our community. The 3–5 year olds are in a self-contained Preschool program.
The kindergarten through 5th graders are organized in small groups, called Crews. These crews have between 5 and 12 children with two adult Crew Leaders. Each crew travels to different stations for the various activities. All groups meet for an exciting opening and
closing time with music and drama. We often have over a hundred children each night from both churches and the community.
